The petal in the photo looks much more white than what’s in the drawing, but I wonder whether it’s just the photograph? You are doing a nice job with your drawing. When we are drawing petals, it can sometimes be easier to ignore those areas that are lighter because of translucency. An example is that area under the fold in the upper right. It can be better sometimes to imagine that the petal isn’t at all see-through. In that case, the part that is folding over would be a lot brighter than what is drawn right now. Can you erase a little bit on that part that is curved forward?
Hello Pam, The light made the petal bright. Yet, my drawing is a bit dark. May be I used a lot of color to show some texture and shading. I will work on my drawing and try to erase some of the color. The petal is dry now! I will look at the images of the petal that I took earlier.. Thank you so much for taking the time to look closely at my drawing. The feedback is so helpful.
