Wow, I love the mood of this drawing! Those little leaves are so sweet, and the detail in the top of this veg is awesome. For light-colored subjects like this, I recommend trying out a few other grisaille colors that are not as dark as Dark Sepia. Perhaps try Warm Gray or Burnt Ochre at first, and then slowly build to a darker color like Dark Sepia in the end, for the very darkest places. I think this will help keep your colors looking fresher. Great job with the roots and the subtle cast shadow. I wonder if there would be a slight cast shadow under the tap root portion? What do you all think?
