(anybody who has tried it has any suggestions about how and where to add in text ?
thanks for sharing, if so !
I am just loving the look of the pages with text that i saw in the webinar and
on this discussion board) View
Ahhh!
I actually want to re-draw this.
My hope is to make ghostlike figures also in the background.
The faces from photographs of who worked those fields.
When I redraw, I will upload in stages…
the grey and white of the cotton are a Serious Challenge
for me… the shading, I mean…

🙂 Nita, you have quite the eye for an artful and complex composition. Can’t wait to see what you end up doing with this one.
geez…thanks….
the idea is many profiles of who worked the cotton fields (from old photos)…but rather there/not there and an extremely
realistic cotton plant in the foreground…
thanks, Marci! Actually, I live in MyrtleLandia: a.k.a. Sardinia, Italy..
But, I used to visit the south of USA a Lot as a child. . .and remember a visit to an old cotton plantation there–
but this was just a trial sketch, and
i worked from some photos..
The plant fascinates me…
I think it beautiful in all its stages.
And for something so light and fluffy,
what a history it has !
Very dramatic composition. You could add detail in the plant if you wanted, but perhaps you like it as is!

Nita, this is very cool! Do you live in the south? Love the moodiness of it and the puffy cotton!
