It is always a good idea to have contrast behind white subjects to set them off. One way is to have pods or dried leavesbehind the white fuzzy seed wings, another is to work on a colored paper and use a white pencil. I will be working on milkweed tomorrow in a class I am teaching so I will post some ideas!
Trying again with the milkweed. I can’t seem to make the seeds fuzzy enough. Any advice before I try again or move on to something else?
I really like the contrast between the finished and “unfinished” in this drawing.
