I’ve been staying up in the poconos social isolating with my family, and I’m putting together a composition of wintery things from in and around our bog. This is where I am with the compost at the moment, which I’ll finish, but will be doing another one similar to it, but hopefully better after this first try. I posted two other photos with some other elements that I’m thinking about adding. Help the composition of this one and the next version would be great! Thanks!
Oh Pam, I love this! I’ve been wanting to sketch the gold, dried grass peaking out from the snow. The beauty is subtle in fall and winter and you have captured it!
Looking great, Pam! I love this collection! And I think that adding the greener elements you suggested in the previous posts is a GREAT idea. I love the detail in that curled brown piece!!! Way to find the beauty in the depths of winter.

Here are the plants in here: – Pitcher plant leaf – pink lady slipper dead pod – cranberry – maleberry – pitcher plant flower stalk – swamp azalea
“Compost” is supposed to be “composition” And “dead” is supposed to be “seed”
Oops I forgot that there is also bog rosemary in the composition. Sorry!

Thanks Maureen! I’m having fun with it.

Just a gorgeous composition. So graceful. A joy to look at.
Bogs are such incredible ecosystems – so cool that you have one to explore and draw from.
