Hi Patti- you are off to a good start! The darkest tone is really good. I would revisit a couple of areas. The area surrounding the highlight should be lightened so there is a subtler transition. Currently the majority of the middle section looks to be a similar tone. Once you lighten around the highlight I would continue to work on having a greater range of tones as you move toward the darkest tone.
