This piece of wood had so much texture and gradations of color.I feel iike it needs more shadowing on the bottom, but had to walk away before I overdid it!
Great subject Patricia and you did a wonderful job! I agree with you about the need of more toning on the bottom. After taking a break from it you may want to go back and add darker toning on the bottom edge transitioning lighter as it nears the highlight. The dark toning on the top of the right side of the branch is a little too dark. You could lighten it with a kneaded erasure. Consequently the top edge of the branch on the left side could use a little more toning. Remember the edge closest to the light source (in this case is the top of the branch) will be a 3-4 on the tone scale. It will also transition lighter as it nears the highlight.
