As I worked on this- big bright orange flecks of pollen fell on the petals and looked great, but I am not quite sure how to achieve- I was almost thinking of just dusting some of the orange directly on and maybe dotting with water to see if it would work- i need to do some experimenting – any suggestions?
Hi Rita- I think adding pollen on the petals would be hard to pull off and it could just confuse things, but I admire your desire to experiment. It certainly would be worth a try, but I would experiment on a separate piece of paper before trying on a finished drawing. I was wondering if you tried blending parts of the pink edge and white edge on the petals the green/white edge would not read as a straight line. It also looks like the center crease on the petals does not follow thru from the pink area into the white/green area on all the petals and I think that would help. When I mentioned adding details I was thinking more of some interesting part that you discovered by taking the flower apart, etc. You could also put calligraphy or an insect (butterfly, bee, etc.) in the empty space on the top right.
Hi Rita- the toned down highlights look better. Do you have any plans for adding more details?

I also thought that might be a way to help the green detail on the petals look less like leaves
