Thanks Vern- its called african senna – according to picture this- it seems like it grows in areas that were burned out- i am in california and in the places where there were wild fires, there are lots of beautiful wild flowers- if my calligraphy were better I would write the name in the upper left corner

I recall from my California taxonomy field trips that this plant is from Africa but introduced and naturalized into California. It is used as a laxative, and I remember the teacher quoting that people think it smells like ” mice, wet dog, peanut butter, and burnt popcorn.” ha! @vern
