Nice Maureen! It looks like your two flowers are having a conversation. Are you going to leave the stem and leaves on the right in the suggested stage? On the flower on the left, I would add more dark toning to the center area where the petals meet the stamen. Seems like there would be more shadow there.
@doug-milne so nice to see your insights, I’m wondering about composition here and thinking about the sharp bend on the stem of the right flower. Do you suppose it needs softening with an added leaf ? I’ll definitely work up the leaves some more and refine center of left flower!
Hi Maureen- I think the stem of the flower on the right has a nice arc to it. I could see a couple of more flowers, buds, etc. on both sides, depending on their size. The empty space on the left stands out to me the most. I would add something there first and then see if you think the right side needs something too.
