This is the most complex drawing I’ve tried. Its very well acquainted with my eraser. Time invested+the wrong pencil stroke=increased anxiety.

Sara, I applaud you for challenging yourself here! We’ve all had some eraser battles, hah. Try to let yourself relax and know that a stray pencil mark (or a squished bug, or any other surprises) are part of the experience. Working with plants can be a bit chaotic and messy sometimes! And a drawing can share that experience in so many ways. I think you did a great job here showing us the habit of growth for this plant. Pay special attention to the places where leaves and stems attach to the branch–that can really take your drawing to the next level. Great highlights and overlaps on the fruits! You chose an awesome subject. I also love your writing on the page. It adds another dimension that is really satisfying. Keep up the good work, and know that we’ve all got our trusty erasers at the hilt, and we’re in this together. 🙂

You are a gem, Sara. I think a book of these will definitely need to be published.
