The uncommon subject, the coming-alive of it from grey to colour, the “page out of a codex” text accompanying the image. I love it. And i love it a second time because it means your garden birds are well fed. And this world needs more birds and more people who notice and help them. I love all the evidence of Observation here. And that you chose this subject, with such a story.
Thank you, Eileen! I was pretty intimidated by that frothy bloom myself. My approach was to draw one floret to get its shape, then instead of trying to draw them all in, I lightly sketched, then toned around them, as you would with leaf veins. I need lots more practice, but it was fun trying!
