Is that Asclepias? I had a similar trouble with wilting last summer. putting your specimen immediately into a plastic bag blown up with some air and then sealed until you draw really helps.
Yes, Asclepias tuberosa, Lise. Thanks for the plastic bag idea! I’ll have to wait for more blooms to try it, though; Monarch caterpillars have chewed up all the current blooms & most leaves. Ah well, they’re the reason I grow this plant, so I can’t complain when they eat it!
Hmm, never seen one wilt that quick. Perhaps obtain a plant in the pot at the garden center and draw from that?
