Hi Sharon, Nice lime. You have such good control over your toning! And have used it well to get the texture of the surface. My comments on this would be that the textural speckles are too uniform in terms of value. They should go lighter when they are in the highlight areas and darker in the shadows. Also I’d like to see a core shadow and reflective light. I’d add a bit of a core shadow first then lighten for the reflective light if you feel it needs it.
Beautiful colors and toning. To give it more of a 3 dimensional form, I would go in with a darker pencil(s) (maybe some dark sepia & chrome oxide green?) and slowly layer in some shadow on the right and bottom of the lime (core shadow). I would start there, see what you think, and then maybe think about lifting out a bit more highlight with a kneaded eraser. It can be hard to take the risk of ruining a drawing, but just go for it with those darks. Go layer by layer slowly, and I think you’ll be happy with how much of a difference that core shadow will make.
