Hi Sharon, Welcome to the art feed! You are off to a fantastic start. Lovely drawing. I can tell that you are closely observing that stick as you draw it. You are starting to get some really nice 3D form. Just a couple of suggestions. The highlight on a cylinder-shaped object should be about 1/4 of the way in from the left – your highlight seems to be little too close to the center. You may be able to do a little erasing, and then toning to move it over to the left just a bit. When you are toning around your highlight, you may want to try toning in and out of that highlight here and there to show how the light bounces around on that surface. Right now it’s a bit uniform and straight (which would work well if this was a smooth cylinder, but on a more bumpy branch it tends to be a bit less uniform). Really nice work, Sharon.
