Just a little background info/explanation. I spent several years make collages from fabric pieces. Made a quilt, did color photocopies and a book with a friend. To make the book, I gave the color copies to my friend who then wrote poems to certain images. Now she’s moving and gave me back the color copies. So here are a few cut out from their larger settings. Whew. In other words, I’m playing around with my “paper dolls”! 🤣
Thanks, Renata. Glad all that info wasn’t too tedious. Ultimately, the question is how something looks/feels….I’m playing around.

Very cool, Sheila. I like the way these two styles are mingling here (the stem in the mouth of the bird is so cute!), but there’s something about them being on a white background…. I wonder about playing with these compositions on Kraft or Black paper? Just to intensify the “layered” feel and send the background back even further? What do you think, @sam-mcwilliams ?

Oops, typo. Making
This is so much fun, Sheila. And full of meaning, which we understand after you tell us the background!

Thanks for those suggestions. I agree totally. It’s funny, I cut the bird out of a very patterned background. I’ll do more experimenting!
