Hi Shannon- you are off to a good start. There are areas I would revisit. The cast shadow is too dark. Cast shadows are dark abutting the subject and then fade as it moves away from the subject. They are meant to be a suggestion of the shadow rather than a literal interpretation. Usually on a sphere the highlight is round with lighter tones around it. To the left of the highlight the tone darkens to a #3 or 4 at the left edge. The reflected highlight on the right is too broad and there is not enough of the darker tones there that would emphasize the sphere’s form. The cross hatch is a nice texture, but most botanical subjects have very smooth surfaces where that texture will not work. Practice doing nice even, smooth layers of tone so you do not see any pencil marks.
