Welcome to the ArtFeed Sue! Your leaf is nicely rendered . There are a couple of things to consider which will make it even more realistic. Veins on leaves taper as they travel from the base to the top of the leaf. It is especially noticeable on the center main vein, but it is true of secondary veins too. Visually there is generally a dark side of the main vein and a light side of the main vein. If the light is coming from the left the left side is light and gets darker as you move toward the main highlight. On the right side of the main highlight it is light and gets darker as you move toward the outside right edge. There are great examples in Wendy’s books and videos in addition to other botanical images in boos or online.
