Nice job Susan. Keep observing those petals closely – looks like that darker violet can run some lines into the more red thinner section of the petal. Observe those folds and lines and “paperiness”. And don’t lose the lighter pinks in your petal that I see in your pink tone bar. Highlight on the onion skin looking good.
Yes, nice highlight on onion skin. I like the way you have sensitively drawn the way the veins. Agree with Sam that the petal can use some more of the darker violet lines running up towards the top. There are some luscious folds in there you could really have fun with!
Thanks. The flower petal wilted a good bit from start to finish, but the wilted version is more interesting and I will work on crevices. I’m having a general issue with capturing wrinkles/bends on flattish surfaces and will experiment with technique.

Yes, wrinkles and bends can be difficult. Think of them in terms of little cylinders. Perhaps cylinders that are a bit flattened on the top.
