Your artichoke is nicely rendered Susan! I think the āvā areas could use more dark toning. The stem has a good range of toning, which is missing from the artichoke itself. There is a lot of highlight and light toning on the artichoke and it is missing mid-range and dark toning that would help enhance its form. You are almost there!
I agree with Doug. Those “v” areas and the mid to dark range need a bit of attention. But the basic drawing is quite good. It feels lively. I’ve seen so many artichokes that are quite beautifully drawn, but very static. This one has a nice vitality!
