Beautiful Susan! The colors are wonderful and the reflected highlight is really good! I like the cross hatching technique! A couple of things to be aware of – be careful not to outline. Especially on the left side that is closest to the light source. The cast shadow is too dark and should angle back at a 45 degree angle. The cast shadow should be more of a suggestion. Too dark and it competes with the subject too much. Great job!
Susan, let us know if you need help figuring out what you are doing wrong with lighting your subject. To me it looks like your light source is to much directly to the left. I would keep your lamp to the left, but just move it forward a bit (closer to you).
