Nancy, this is a lovely leaf study. Is it all done in graphite? If so, I recommend trying one in just Dark Sepia; it will allow you some more flexibility in toning. Nice leaf margins and central vein. I think you could make your secondary veins just a bit thinner; and make them continue to get thinner as they reach the edge of the leaf. I also think you can get a little more contrast in tones here; give us a full range of tones from dark to light– I recommend more of the lightest tones (#2, #3) to create a nice transition on each leaf plane. Great work! Can’t wait to see you try one in color!
The ruffle on the edge is especially nice.
