I posted a drawing a couple days ago. I do see it in my file but not on the group discussion board. I am going to try again and see what happens. Kousa dogwood. View
Thanks for the encouragement Wendy, Vern and Liz. Since I am still learning the in and outs of the new platform I managed to delete Liz’s comment when I intended to respond. I don’t know that I consider myself dedicated. I think that I have trouble visualizing an entire composition so I go for the parts. Hence I have that sprig of hawthorne with the berries and the terrifying thorns. And now the amaryllis. Right now I have a really cute one with red at the edge of each petal. But it’s small and would not look right with the bud that I have drawn which was from another variety. If the warm weather continues I may have blossoms on the hawthorne tree to work with. Currently I am finding a remodel of out master bath visually terrifying. I have decided to stop looking at the different pieces going in. Since it’s not a one hour HGTV job the end product is too far away for me to be comfortable with the view. Sometimes getting a drawing far enough along that I’m comfortable with it is disconcerting too.
Hi Theresa, I struggle with the same inner turmoil as I think all creative people do. It helps me to listen (over and over) to Wendy’s voice describe her creative process in her videos. Try not to get attached to each drawing and see where it will lead. Courage is required!
It is fun Theresa to draw an amaryllis in all stages so keep going on these!
Terry, what a great start. I can see this page really coming to life as you add all the stages!
