Doug and Fern thank you for your input. I added more color on the leaves and I deepened the shadows within the base, which was filled with an icy snow mix in the actual photo. Maybe if it’s a Robin’s nest, blue eggs would have enhanced the subject,…but alas, I was just left with leaves that lost their pigment for the most part. It was an exciting find nonetheless.
This is lovely, Wendy. If I were a bird I’d want to lay my eggs on that nice soft layer of leaves in there. I love the variety of textures. There is a really nice contrast between the frenetic swirling twigs of the nest and the calm smooth leaves. Really nice drawing.
