Thanks Vern. Still working. Discovered the tiny chestnut today where the petals had fallen off or curled up! -

I’m working on the chestnut flowers. They are so fun to look at, but today is 81 degrees. Can’t make the meeting live, our condo association has the dreaded annual meeting tonight. Have fun. I’ll watch it tomorrow.

Thanks Vern. That is helpful…I don’t usually use water colour at all but now have the recommended wc pencils so will start to try that.

Yes you are right. I had a similar feeling after finishing, like it is too picture perfect – i felt i should have chosen a different more irregular leaf, or a different perspective to draw.

Thanks, Vern. I’m definitely planning on more details going on the page. This bush really caught my eye! I’m going out now (deluge stopped) on a recognizance mission:) -

Great studies and bud. The rolling edges are lovely!

This shrub is Calycanthus, Cinnamon Bush, growing down the street from me! The flower opened in the fridge, so I’m expecting more action if it ever stops raining. Got some room on the page:)

Vern, that is brilliant! You made it vertical and I think that’s just right now! -

I’m planning on adding a few other elements, like the center when it flowers! I know the angle is too much. I was trying to get petals and center….

I added some elements and left some watercolor. Still considering it.

Wow! Beautiful! I love the way you got the roundness of the pine cone, the details on the “scales”, and the lights and darks all around.

Thanks, Carol. I see the green cone for the flowers emerging. I’m already intimidated! -

Thanks for that feedback, Carol. I’ll keep looking at it in case something comes to me. Maybe another detail. saturated -

If I’ve said this before….but can’t wait to see your flower! Also love your composition and how much information you’ve given on the budding, branches, leaves. Your composition is so unique. Love it!

I like the comparison of the airy watercolour and the more intense saturated coloured pencil! It’s fun and different!

Somehow I feel like leaving the branch very light, but I think I still need to do something. Any thoughts?
