Photo in the group The Practice of Botanical Drawing Discussion Board 6 years, 11 months agoThanks Vern. I am working on Lesson 3 (leaves) now but find graphite so much easier to handle than polychromos sepia. Anyway, I’ll post my efforts tomorrow if I can in time for Monday’s webinar. -

Photo in the group The Practice of Botanical Drawing Discussion Board 6 years, 11 months agoWhat a pleasure to enjoy the fragrance of these orange blossom flowers while I was drawing them. Some of the city streets are lined with these lovely trees, some blooming, some with sour oranges for marmalade.

Photo in the group The Practice of Botanical Drawing Discussion Board 6 years, 12 months agoYou’re welcome. A single tree is beautiful and groves look like low hanging clouds of petals! Plus, they have a light, sweet fragrance! -

Photo in the group The Practice of Botanical Drawing Discussion Board 6 years, 12 months agoIf you like the texture of the pencil, no need to burnish, or as I do burnish selectively only where you want to darken and smooth out more! There is an art to burnishing just like every aspect of drawing! These leaves are lovely. For example you might want to burnish your shadow to quiet it down but not burnish elsewhere
