Thanks Pam. I’ll post a whole tree in bloom for you to see.

Wonderful! I’ve never seen how almonds grow. Very cool.

Thanks, Carol. I was really excited to see the almond blossoms and then how big the almonds were getting on the tree!

Oh! This looks so light and summery! I particularly like the right branches how they enter the page. Very nice composition! I think I am craving some summer blooms!

I got back to the tree (bus ride and mini hike) and got the growing almonds and even a mature one still on a branch. I’ve got the spots scoped out!

Looks a bit like our wild rose! I do love the wrinkly petal too!! And cross section of stamens and pistol.

Is this quince Sheila?? That’s what a Japanese Quince looks like here in NA. Love the deep pink and all the the little details. So Springish!!

Thanks, Vern. These flower petals are so delicate and really cheery to see in their rocky, rugged landscape. I think I should add something, like a habit drawing. Hmmm.

Thanks, Pam. Yes, busy hunting for flowers, hiking and drawing!

Love the addition, and the composition as a whole. You’be been a busy woman!

The common name in Spanish is “jara “ and in Latin, “Cistus albidus, the grey-leaved cistus, is a shrubby species of flowering plant in the family Cistaceae, with pink to purple flowers, native to south-western Europe antd western North Africa”. Wikipedia. It’s growing in dry, rocky soil. The petals are super wrinkly. I’ve now seen it in white, too.

Thanks Vern! My dog ate my drawing so I’ll be drawing it again. I know exactly the area you are talking about, so I’ll pay clause attention to it when I try again. Thanks so much for the feedback!

The leaves grew, so I decided to add them!

Thanks Vern. Still really struggling with the stamens and pollen. Looking forward to seeing a live demo soon!

Thanks Vern. This is a very pink quince. Now the leaves are coming out on the little stem, so I’ll add them.

Thanks Vern. Yes, that’s the back of the leaves. These figs were growing out of/between giant cement blocks that make up a (wave) breaker in the fishing harbor! I’ll find some more stems. I like drawing them a lot. They are sturdy!
