I’m sad to see the flowers going, but fall leaves are so inviting. The one on the right is not yet done. I’m trying to layer the colors slowly to get better shading.

I have just returned from a drawing retreat with Giacomina Ferrillo. I learned so much and this is the passion fruit I chose for my final project. The first day home from my trip I harvested the last of the cherry tomatoes in my garden. They were so sweet and beautiful!

I was away from home caring for a parent, and drawing this tomato is what kept me (kind of) sane. I only had my colored pencils with me, so this is colored pencil only. GORGEOUS!!!

Had fun at the in-person Nature Journaling workshop at Hollengold Farm this September. Here is my journal page from the natural swimming pool, with a close-up of an interesting waterside flower, pickerelweed. I loved the way the flowers curled after blooming.
