• Wonderful Denise! The petals of these flowers can get complicated and be challenging to illustrate them successfully, but you have done a superb job! The flower on the bottom that is presenting it’s face to the viewer really looks like it is in the forefront and arching toward us. Not easy to do and you have done it perfectly!

  • Gorgeous Karye! The colors, the highlight and reflected light, etc, etc, etc! Everything works! Even the leaf on the left looks amazing just as it is! Bravo!

  • Good job on these limes Kellie! They have a good textural quality which is the biggest challenge for citrus.

  • The toning is really nice on the back view of these leaves Kellie! Wonderful job!

  • Welcome back Kellie! Wonderful job on this pomegranate! It is beautifully rendered and great colors and saturation!

  • Beautiful Tamara! Great range of tones! Be careful – the main highlight is almost in the middle of the branch and ideally should be over to the left a little bit. Sometimes there are breaks in the highlight as when it is interrupted by a bud or missing side branch, etc. Just a general note: the shiner the bark (or fruit skin, leaf, etc) the…[Read more]

  • This is really good Tamara! Once again you have great color selection and saturation! I would point out a couple of things. First, your cast shadow is a little too dark. Shadows should be more of a suggestion to ground the subject to the page. If they get to dark they create contrast which distracts the eye from the focal point. Since your light…[Read more]

  • Great color selection and saturation Tamara! You should be pleased! Be careful not to have an outline. The edge closest to the light source and the portion of edge where there is reflected light especially should not have a dark outer edge. Verithin pencils (by Prismacolor) are great for finishing off a drawing. They are a hard wax pencil that…[Read more]

  • Welcome to the ArtFeed Tamara! Great job with the ribbon shadow lesson.

  • You are really challenging yourself and doing a great job! My one comment concerns the base of the vase. It should not have a straight bottom. The bottom should have a curve that matches the curve at the top of the vase. Bravo Margaret!

  • Absolutely gorgeous Margaret! The leaves are just as wonderful as the flowers! Everything works!

I struggled with drawing clean, sharp edges. Otherwise I am pleased as this is my first attempt at drawing from nature.
