Great job Fanny! Colors are spot on!! The curve at the bottom and the dip in the middle read really well!

Beautiful Margaret! The leaves are lovely. Great color selection and saturation on the dahlia!

Nice rich saturated color Margaret! I think of tomatoes as often having shiny skins so I was expecting a whiter main highlight and maybe another highlight or two on the bumpy areas near the stem. The dark toning you have done has expressed beautiful form otherwise.

Love the delicacy of the petal details Margaret! Glad you still recognized her beauty despite her state of despair!

Hi Margaret, Beautiful drawing! The colors are so vibrant, but also feel natural. I particularly like the sepals on the bud. Nice curling leaves!

Great job Liz- beautiful colors and nice attention to the details on the flowers! You captured the delicacy of the petals! A couple of areas you could revisit. I think the flower bud would benefit from adding a highlight. The sepals on both flower and bud are all the same color and tone disregarding that part would be in the light and part would…[Read more]

Hi Karen- this is a really nice citrus drawing! Great colors and saturation.! Agreed with Katy on making some changes to the cast shadow on the original version. However, I think this is a little too dark and I would lighten it a little. As you have done you want it to be darkest under the subject and fade lighter as it moves away, but you don’t w…[Read more]

Hi Cathie- I would give you the same advice for the gourd as I did for your tomato. It needs toning to give it form. We generally draw the form toning (grisailles toning) right after the sketch of the subject is complete. Once you have the toning in you start to add the color and details. There have been some amazing gourd drawings posted on the…[Read more]
