Morels do seem like friendly creatures, but they are hard to resist eating. Draw fast, then cook! -

I want to be a friend to those morels. But then I want to eat them.

Hi Karen, These blossoms are so feathery and delicate. You have really captured those qualities. Especially on the bottom one. Nice job!

Hi Karen,
I love fiddleheads! Great to see an interesting study of them. I particularly like the way you have drawn the curling cylinder of the center vein. That highlight on the top is spot on. I’d like to see you define more what is happening as they emerge from the ground. And I don’t think you need a cast shadow. Or if you do include one be…[Read more] -

Beautiful drawing!
I agree with Doug about the lettering, so am glad you were able to erase it.
Your use of color is exquisite. I love all the various hues you combine to achieve the luminous whites and violets and blues. Great job. -

Hi Cynthia,
This is beautiful. I love your rich dark browns! And the way you are capturing the feather texture. I’m seeing that you are observing a high light edge on the right side of the feather, but be careful not to let it look like a uniform outline. Break it up a bit and tone down the value. Also that light line on the right side of the…[Read more] -

This is so, so lovely to look at.

Thanks, Vern. My “conversation “ arrangements.

Exactly – the characters are really conversing!

I just haven’t tuned in to the dialogue. Leaving that to them 🙂

Incredible work Sheila, really lovely!

Thank you, Maureen. I’m experimenting and glad to hear it’s coming off well 🙂

Gorgeous, Mary Jo. I still think you could bring some dark indigo in in a few key spots to darken a touch more. But obviously not necessary – only if you want. Beautifully done.

Beautiful!

Thank you so much for your input. I appreciate it, Mary Jo

Thanks so much, I will definitely do that. Mary Jo

Thank you Katy. That “cast shadow” was my attempt at soil! I think I will darken it and add some lumps or something. The fiddleheads are growing in a pot. I will have a look to see what it actually looks like, but the ferns are all open now.

Thank you! It’s hard to let go of striving for perfection, and to just enjoy. I am not used to being a beginner at something. Appreciate your comments.

Thanks, Doug. Yes, I did draw the elm tree seeds on the paper. First time I ever really looked at those seeds. -

Gorgeous Mary Jo!!!! Great composition! The focal point to me is that beautiful flower and I find it hard to take my eyes off it!!!! All aspects of this drawing are wonderfully rendered!!! Personally I don’t think you needed the title at the top. Especially with it having a white background I find it distracting, but that beautiful flower still wins!!!!

Nice to see those flowers, Rita. They really pop. The plant behind is a bit confusing since the colours are so different I’m not sure if it’s the same plant or not.
