Is that a cayenne? That highlight is exquisite. Perhaps it goes too dark in the shadow almost making it seem like a hollow or insides? Perhaps just the photo? I like how it has a glowing/glistening feel. The transition of reds is fantastic. I can really feel the form of it, and waxiness of the skin.

ooh, nice. I think those darker purples and violets could come out a touch more, and outline darker/sharper in those colours. towards the centre of the flower – like my eye is being drawn out from dark to light – centre to tips of petals. Gorgeous. What great dancer-like curve to that left blade. And wonderful gradation of colour.

Get those whites in there girlfriend!

Just keep practicing, Mia, and be nice to your self. Wendy has probably drawn 100,000 petals. Emboss very lightly, and sometimes come back in. with some watercolor to tone down the embossing. I mean, as you know, I am just a huge fan of your drawing, and this magnolia yields no exception. Elegant as always. I suppose you could go a bit darker in some overlap areas to increase the drama, but I like your soft, flowing, harmonious style.
