I found tiny mushrooms on a little stick and decided this was the last addition. Now I think the stick is too much, too dark, too something.

@vern Thanks for those suggestions. I was trying to get that pulpy shredded wood, couldn’t get the color. Maybe white watercolor and then some color. Sometimes it feels like my paper is done before I am. Too much erasing? I’ll keep at it.

@wendy thanks Wendy, going for a little more detail and that’s it. Already started a radish from the farm! Felt like a dose of red!

It looks so great Sheila! Well done. (You could put a little green on the left side of the stick like you have on the right, like across from the top tiny mushroom) and it’ll tie it together and lead my eye back in 🙂 ) Its a stunner of a page – well done!!!

@sam-mcwilliams thanks for the feedback and suggestion. There’s some drying lichen I’m going to put on the left side.

What sizes of brushes are you using? I’m in the same boat of wanting to work on my watercolor skills. This is really lovely Pam!

Hi Rita, I recognize this is from Wendy’s class last week! So lovely! I really like the many colors you are using in the whites. It looks pearlescent! I also like the way you are getting the shine on the leaves. The one right below the flower is quite nice. The leaf above the flower has some difficulties. I’m not sure if the light areas are a…[Read more]

I’m taking a short break from colored pencils to try to get a little better with watercolor. I was at a local apple orchard this morning and decided to give this apple a try. It’s also delicious!

@wendy Hi Wendy, thank you for your feedback and helpful suggestions! I have made the highlight smaller. I also tried out the cast shadow on tracing paper. I’m not sure if I’m getting it right. I tried lighting the gourd with a flashlight and then just an overhead light. Would love to know your thoughts. Thank you… -

Hi Jill, such a fun interesting subject. The view you chose is very fun. Love all the shapes the negative space creates. You have done a great job.I think I would make the highlight a bit smaller ,bringing it located in the highest light area right now (on the big highlight. )I am also curious to see what a cast shadow would look like but I…[Read more]
