I’m sad to see the flowers going, but fall leaves are so inviting. The one on the right is not yet done. I’m trying to layer the colors slowly to get better shading.

I have just returned from a drawing retreat with Giacomina Ferrillo. I learned so much and this is the passion fruit I chose for my final project. I had fractured a bone in my dominant hand the week before leaving and so worked very slowly and with a little less control than I’m used to. I was away from home caring for a parent, and drawing this tomato is what kept me (kind of) sane. I only had my colored pencils with me, so this is colored pencil only.
