Thank you Vern, this drawing is more likely to be a diary record. I captured the pink of flowers, however need to draw more details of the tiny center of flowers.

Hsi- it is a beautiful rendering of the front and back view of these leaves. Such subtle colors! I would consider a little dark toning along the main vein on both views.

Unfortunately, right now I can’t get the beautiful flower for this bean, but I’m leaving a space for it. Thinking I might need to darken the left side of the bean? The open pod sections?

Hi Sheila- beautiful! I agree with you on both points. I don’t think the left side of the bean needs much shading, but it does not look consistent to me. I think this is more successful but still I can’t achieve that gentle transition to the highlights- my tendency in general, is to get darker and darker- this is a combination of watercolor and pencil- basically I end up adding the highlights back in and I am not sure if thats the best way to achieve a gentle transition

the green stems on the right is what was left after the petals dropped off of the flowers I was working on

Hi Rita- These flowers look like perennial geraniums to me – shape, colors and stamens. Maybe look online and see if that looks right- leaves are very distinctive. Hi Liesbeth- see some comments on your other posting. The shadow is looking better on this as it’s much lighter, but it is still too large. It should be darkest near the fruit and quickly transition to lighter tones. It does not have to extend so far.
