Hi Sheila- I agree that the slanted poppy seed head looks much better. There are a couple of other things to consider – I am bothered by the stem/seed head that comes off the top of the red berries. It looks like they are on the same plant. I also question the stem/seed head on the right side. It is fairly vertical and I wonder if it wouldn’t l…[Read more]

Stephanie, this is lovely. What I’ll often do when tryin to figure out a composition, is to make some quick drawings on tracing paper to see what it would look like. That way I can play around with the composition. You could give that a try. Could you incorporate the red leaves into the drawing of the of the white berries in a bunch? There is also…[Read more]

To brighten the branches, you could try adding in a little pale geranium lake.

Mary, This looks GREAT. I really like the added shadows, It now has more 3D form, and those gorgeous flowers stand out more. Great work!
