Nice composition Hayden. Maybe it is the quality of the post, but these subjects look faded and in need of more color saturation. They could also use more of a tonal range to emphasize their form. They are almost there!

Great job Becky! You have a good range of tones with a nice highlight which give the tomato wonderful form! Your color selection and saturation is also wonderful!

Hi Maureen- the highlights in particular are wonderful! There is something about the position of the large leaf on the right that bothers me. Personally, I would add a piece of stem with a curl in it come out from the lower right edge of the leaf. I think that would help the composition.

Beautiful Mary! The leaves are wonderful! I would consider making some of the leaf overlaps darker. I would also expect the flowers to cast shadows. The flowers are amazing too and adding some dark behind them would really make them pop!

This was an 80th birthday present for a friend whose Jewish family escaped Hungary (tulips), emigrated to Australia (golden wattle). He moved to NYC and started his architecture firm (rose for USA and NYS), and has lived in CT for 40 years. His life’s journey in flowers.

I’m loving your Kraft paper pieces. The stem on the inflorescence is a tad stick straight. It can look more natural if you draw it with a little movement. Stems tend to bend just a bit at each node.

Hi Hayden- this is a pleasing grouping and it is well done! I would tweak a couple of areas. It seems like the highlight on the tan pear on the left is caused by light coming from a different direction than the other two pears. That highlight should shift over more to the left. The lower section of highlight on the red pear is good, but the pointy…[Read more]
