I worked on trying to make the branch more cylindrical. I’m starting to like this drawing, so any advice about how to improve it would be great. Thanks! -

Thanks! Ill continue with this one instead of starting over if you think it’s on the right track I’ll work on the branch some more. -

This is another try from a different perspective. I’m just not getting it. I’m going to stop until I get advice so I don’t make it worse, and I’ll practice the lessons some more instead. -

Great drawing! Love all those channels. (Looks like the organs of cell mitochondria!) so fun to see all these things under a mike, isn’t it??!!

Thank you. I can see where I could have toned some more. Also, the texture of the branch did not have a shiny highlight. The texture was actually rough. Should I have toned down the branch in the highlighted areas? Maybe taken the tone up to a #4? -

This is before the ranunculus exploded open. Today I removed the petals and discovered the amazing center.

I added yellow watercolor today and think it’s brighter.

It posted sideways, so the vertical cylinder I referred to above is now horizontal. -

This branch is excellent. The knots are very good. You can still tone a bit more to avoid an outline on the right side. -

This looks good. Highlights can still be a bit less stripy by occasionally toning a bit into the lightest area - Load More
