Today’s Program: Creating a complex composition with various focal points
To create the paintings for the Album of Plant Families Wendy used a technique to create complex compositions right on her final painting. She does this by putting plastic over her paper and laying out different subjects to draw so she can see them together and create focal points and areas of interest with one plant relating to another plant on the page. During this demo she will show you how she does this and do a bit of drawing on the final paper to get things started. Her medium is colored pencil and watercolor together on watercolor paper.
