Hi Pam, I left some leaves paler than the others but the contrast is not great. I tried different colours for the dark highlights and found that Dark Indigo was the best. Your suggestions as well as Doug’s and Sam’s are appreciated.
Wow Helene, those berries are presenting themselves so well! I like the mix with the paler tones on the leaves and your leaves are beautiful!!! I would expect the leaves that are furthest back would be the ones to be paler. The leaves at the top are the darkest and closest to what I think of the color of holly leaves. None of the other leaves seem quite as dark and I think the berries would cast shadows on the leaves surrounding them. The leaf to the left of the berries is very pale and since it is probably closest to the front I would expect it to be darker. As gorgeous as the berries are if you added more dark toning to the three leaves surrounding the berries it will make the berries pop even more!
Wow, Helene! This is so gorgeous. It was beautiful before, and you’ve pushed it to another level – awesome! If you take Doug’s advice, it will be magnificent.
Pam. I tried to follow your suggestion to leave some leaves paler but then, I did not know which ones to choose (don’t know enough about perspective) so they will all be dark.

I can’t wait to see the finished piece. I think you are leaving plenty of variation in color in the leaves. You are doing a fantastic job.
