Hi Colleen- nice job on the branch segments! With a little more work they will be spot on. The one on the right is the most successful of the three. It has a little bit of an outline along each side, but I would add a little more darker toning to the left of your darkest right side edge. That is the problem with the middle and left branch. You have a dark outside edge and then a mid tone, but there should be a range of tones in that mid-tone area from the darkest side and moving right toward the highlight. Remember the arc toning exercise where you work on showing 9 tones from left to right (dark to light). These are thin branches so you might not see all 9 tones, but there should be a range to convey the branches cylindrical shape. Your highlights are irregular (as they should be) and well positioned. You are almost there!
