What a fun subject, Hendrika! You did a nice job showing the peeling skin of the onion and the highlight is lovely. I think your cast shadow could be toned down just a little bit more so it doesn’t overpower the onion itself. You can do this by using lighter colors for the cast shadow, such as a Verithin Gray pencil or Warm Gray #273. And fade the cast shadow into the paper so it disappears and is barely there. Lovely work!!

Such good color and texture! You have a really good highlight there too. I find it so hard to keep the gradual tones toward the middle of the highly and you’ve done it here. I bet you that Wendy is going to encourage you to erase just teensy bit at the center to give you a true light highlight!
