Jeanne, I think your toning on these white flowers is looking really nice. The place where my eyes get confused is where the stem meets the center of the back of the flower on the right… For some reason it is hard for me to tell if that spot is convex or concave. Maybe some more dark toning behind the stem? Or clarification at the junction of the stem and petals? I don’t know if I have the solution, but for me, that’s the target area to work on. The rest is very lovely. I especially like the purple reproductive parts peeking through on the left. And I like the idea of violet uniting the two a bit more. 🙂
Thanks so much Vern for your comments. I agree that stem has issues and started to tone it like a cylinder a bit more. I think it’s about the dark side of the stem and the dark underside of the flower that I’m having trouble figuring out. I can darken the underside of that petal too. I’ve started to go in with bits of verithin black. Yes, the centers of these flowers are particularly fascinating with dark blues and purple and black and on some a hint of pink underneath all of that and at the very center that you can see in some views.
