Hi Karen, I have been following your progress with your drawings and it is great seeing things come together. Such good work! In this piece I love the richness of color you are getting. I am really starting to feel the volume. What you need to work on now is getting the sense of “light on ‘form” Think of where the light source is. Think of the core shadow and the reflective light. I see what I think is a highlight on the bulb, but because there is not a strong corresponding shadow on the other side, it doesn’t work as well. The same goes for the little inset of the stem. (Great little addition, by the way.) I want to see the cylindrical shape. Where is the highlight? The core shadow? The reflective light?
