Hi Karen, I see you have heeded Doug’s excellent advice to use the paper hue and other colors to achieve the value range. Good Job! I also like that you are doing “practice flowers”! I would suggest you try drawing the flower in 2 ways. One using just the lilac or green. Then do one with just the white. In both cases use the paper hue to create the values. The drawings will be somewhat flat because of the limited value range, but it will be a good exercise in allowing the paper to show through and be integral to the drawing.
