My persimmon study, feedback welcome. I’m struggling to get a faithful scan/correct in photoshop. In any case, this is a gift for a friend who sent me this persimmon that she grew in her yard. Out of context, I can see that it might be confused for a tomato.
Beautiful Maureen! It has the distinctive persimmon top, which is so well done! The toning on the cast shadow is so nice, but I would lighten it a little. What fortunate friends you both are!!!
I love that, Maureen! And I think all persimmons can be confused with tomatoes when out of context – until you start paying attention to the details. The fleshy ‘cheeks’ of yours are very persimmonsy!
What a treasure for your friend, Maureen! YOu did a beautiful job. Those leafy bracts on top are just gorgeous. I love all of the values that you got in there.

Thank you, @doug-milne! I’ll lighten the cast shadow. And yes, our friendship is most fortunate 🙂

Thank you, @renatafp!
I love the color and shine!
Thank you, @erussek!

Thank you @pgthompson! I added a cross-section of the persimmon to the top of the page and I think it ruined the piece so I’ll start afresh ðŸ˜
Oh no. Show us, maybe it’s fixable.
