Nice work, Nicole! I really like the way you’ve shown the highlights on the petals–very successful. And I also think you’ve done a great job with the undulating leaf and its highlights. I wonder about the “ground” at the bottom? What do you all think? I think this would look more realistic without it. Also take another look at your reflective highlight on the stem–I would do 2 things: 1. bring that leaf color right up next to the stem so there’s no empty space between the stem and the leaf. And 2. Tone down your reflective highlight on the stem just a bit, so it doesn’t compete with all your other highlights. Work to feather that reflective highlight into the stem so that it feels cohesive. Great work!!
Hi Nicole, I also love those undulating leaves! And I agree with Vern on the “ground” at the bottom. Probably better without. But if you are going to include a ground, establish an interesting cast shadow. As it is I’m not sure what is happening with the light source. A well drawn cast shadow could really situate the tulip.

Thanks Vern, I appreciate the feedback very much.
