The contrast of the different types of textures works so well here – and that green bud is so fun 🙂

Pam this is a really fun glimpse inside the tulip tree flower! I like this cross-section feel. I wonder if darkening a bit behind the textured column would make the dried petals feel more… cup-shaped overall, while at the same time highlighting that beautiful column? I also feel like there’s something a little off about how the petals connect to the stem. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but that one one the top left seems like it should connect a bit further down? Hmm. I don’t know… do you have a photo? Not sure if my botany terms are correct here, but hopefully you’ll get what I mean… I’d love to see more added to this page! Maybe a fallen petal? Or even more studies of this plant?
Those last two photos were from my sketchbook that I drew before drawing the one that I’m working on that is the photo on the top. Just added these two for my own reference as I continue to work on the drawing that’s on the top.
Hi Pam- I love the view you chose! The subject is so sculptural and it makes me think of Georgia O’Keefe! As Vern said there are a couple of things to try and I look forward to seeing more! Great job!

Oh yeah! Look at that! They really do attach that way! It’s amazing! You’ve captured it very well. Thanks for all the clarification!
