Thanks Maureen! Now that I’m looking at it I can see I probably need to make some changes. The front leaf is especially bothering me. I think I need to darken the left center part of it a bit.
Gorgeous and tender study/drawing, Pam. I see what you mean – I think that since that curled leaf on the right has a full range of values, to make the drawing feel finished I want to see a fuller range on the far left side of the drawing. Not that they have to match, of course, as you know – but just to say – I agree with what you were already thinking. Love this study.
I love how beech trees hold onto their leaves all winter long. Drew these with graphite.
