Hi Renata, Lovely drawing! I really like those curling petals in the center left. I think you can go in now with some darker values. Especially where the petals overlap. Those little triangles. The trick will be to choose the right color. I’m thinking a deep purple. Also it is hard to read the highlight on the right side. As it is, it seems a glow is emanating out the center of the flower. Or maybe the flower is variegated and actually has that white area?

Agree; some dark tones will really help define this a little more. You could try Red Violet or even Dark Indigo, depending on the local color of this flower. You’ll also want some more dark in the center to define and pull into focus what’s going on there. Beautiful work so far!!!!
Hi both, thank you so much for the tips, really helpful. Katy, yes, the flower is white in the centre (very inconvenient) but I think I will have to let go of that. Or could I use some grey in there? I like the idea of using a violet or indigo in order to define the darker areas. Will keep you posted!
